Simple Crochet Lace Tape Pattern
Hello everyone! Today I am sharing another crochet lace tape pattern that is so simple but looks amazing!
This tape is only 5 rows in height and is bordered with solid double crochets, with a mesh center.
The mesh part is a series of V stitches, with the 4th row being similar in appearance, but it’s 2 double crochets together.

Materials Used:
- Size 10 Crochet Thread
- 1.65mm Crochet Hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle
Abbreviations Used (US terms)
- St(s) – stitch(es)
- Ch(s) – chain(s)
- Sl st – slip stitch
- Sc – single crochet
- Dc – double crochet
- 2dctog – 2 double crochets together
- To make a 2dctog, yarn over and insert your hook into the designated space, pull up a loop (3 loops on your hook)
- Yarn over and pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook, this is the first “leg.”)
- Yarn over and insert your hook into the next designated space and pull up a loop (4 loops on your hook)
- Yarn over and pull through 2 loops (3 loops on your hook, this is the second “leg.”)
- Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.
- V stitch – a double crochet, chain 2, and another double crochet all in the same stitch

Simple Crochet Lace Tape Pattern
Ch a repeat of 6+3
All that means is to ch 6 over and over again until you’re happy with the length of your tape, and then add 3 more chs to the end of that.
Row 1: Dc into the 4th ch away from your hook. Dc into each and every ch across.
Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as a dc and ch 1), turn, dc into same st, skip 2 sts, (dc, ch 2, dc) in the next st. This is your first V stitch made.
*Skip 2 sts and V stitch into next st.*
Repeat from *to* across.
At the end of this row, you should have 3 sts left (2 dc and the ch from the foundation ch), make a (dc, ch 1) in the top ch.
Row 3: Ch 4 (counts as a dc and ch 1), turn, dc into next ch 1 space. V stitch into the next ch 2 space across.
After V stitching into the last ch 2 space, dc into next ch 1 space, dc into the 3rd ch of the starting ch 4 from the previous row.
Row 4: Ch 4 (counts as a dc and ch 1), turn, next we will make a 2dctog. The first leg will go in the next ch 1 space and the second leg will go into the next ch 2 space.
*Ch 2, 2dctog with the first leg going into the same ch 2 space just worked into and the second leg going into the next ch 2 space.*
Repeat from *to* across.
The last 2dctog’s second leg will go into the last ch 1 space. Ch 1 and dc into the 3rd ch of the starting ch 4 from the previous row.
Row 5: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, dc into next ch 1 space. *Dc into next 2dctog. 2 dc into next ch 2 space.*
Repeat from *to* across. Place a dc in last ch 1 space and a dc into the 3rd ch of starting ch 4 from previous row.
Cut thread with scissors and weave in any loose ends.
